In curand.

GLOBALISATION reloaded. The NEW WORLD ORDER back on track. By Dorin Ghidiu.

Care este traseul initial ne spune „one of our most outstanding thinkers” (caracterizarea ii apartine Presedintelui Barack Obama):

„We cannot leap into world government in one quick step…In brief, the precondition for eventual globalization — genuine globalization —is progressive regionalization, because thereby we move toward larger, more stable, more cooperative units.” – Zbigniew Brzezinski – 1st Annual „State of the World” Forum in San Francisco, (organized by the Gorbachev Foundation 1995, September 27)

,,American foreign policy has been framed by several conventionally accepted assumptions about the shape of the post ColdWar environment. First, it has been assumed that the old bipolar world would beget a multipolar world with power dispersed to new centers in Japan, Germany (and/or „Europe”), China and a diminished Soviet Union/Russia…these assumptions are mistaken. The immediate post Cold War world is not multipolar. It is unipolar. The center of world power is an unchallenged superpower, the United States, attended by its Western allies.”

si Charles Krauthammer –  „The Unipolar Moment” (Foreign Affairs, 1990, Sept 18):

,,No doubt, multipolarity will come in time. In perhaps another generation or so…But we are not there yet, nor will we be for decades. Now is the unipolar moment.”

„…When I first proposed the unipolar model in 1990, I suggested that…unipolarity could last thirty or forty years. That seemed bold at the time. Today, it seems rather modest. The unipolar moment has become the unipolar era.” – Charles Krauthammer – „The Unipolar Moment Revisited” (Winter 2002- 2003)

Si iata cum vad ei continuarea:

„…there are those on the American political scene who are calling for us…to come home…but they are misguided…for more than six decades, the United States has resisted the gravitational pull of these „come home” debates…We must do so again”

„…those who say that we can no longer afford to engage with the world have it exactly backward — we cannot afford not to…”

„…beyond our borders, people are also wondering about America’s intentions — our willingness to remain engaged and to lead…The answer is: We can, and we will” – Hillary Clinton – “America’s Pacific Century” (Foreign Policy Magazine 2011, October 11).

„…the entire globalization project has turned to be in a crisis…this situation is a consequence of a wrong, hasty and somewhat arrogant choice made by some countries’ political elites some twenty-five years ago…back then, at the turn of the 1980s and 1990s, there was a chance not only to spur globalization processes but to give them a qualitatively new, harmonious and sustainable character”

„… the countries that claimed to be the winners in the Cold War began to reshape the global political and economic order in their own interests…these states embarked on a path of globalization and security for themselves only, but not for all.”

„…make the globalization for the select few turn into globalization for all.”

„…In the midterm prospect, the tendency towards regionalization of the global economy will apparently continue, but regional trade agreements should complement, develop, and not substitute universal norms and rules.” – Vladimir Putin – „The Future in Progress: Shaping the World of Tomorrow” (Valdai International Discussion Club’s 13th annual meeting, Sochi 2016, October 27)

sau Mihail Gorbaciov –  „Perspectives On Global Change” (Lafayette College 2011, October 20):

„…after the breakup of the Soviet Union, we did not succeed in staying the course in our relations. The opportunities that existed after the end of the Cold War…were not used properly…We saw deterioration where there should have been positive movement toward a new world order.”

„… but we still are facing the problem of building such a world order. We have crises, we are facing problems…All of these problems are because we do not have a system of global governance.”

„… after the disappearance of the Soviet Union, unfortunately, some people in this country[U.S]…began to push the idea of creating a new empire, a special kind of empire.”

„…I think …that the idea of building a global American empire is a bad idea, that was mistaken from the start.”

“…As its era of global dominance ends, the United States needs to take the lead in realigning the global power architecture…the emerging redistribution of global political power and the violent political awakening in the Middle East are signaling the coming of a new global realignment…the United States is still the world’s politically, economically, and militarily most powerful entity but, given complex geopolitical shifts in regional balances, it is no longer the globally imperial power.” – Zbigniew Brzezinski – „Towards a Global Realignment” (The American Interest 2016, April 17)

„…The future of the unipolar era hinges on whether America is governed by those who wish to retain, augment and use unipolarity to advance not just American but global ends, or whether America is governed by those who wish to give it up—either by allowing unipolarity to decay as they retreat to Fortress America, or by passing on the burden by gradually transferring power to multilateral institutions as heirs to American hegemony. The challenge to unipolarity is not from the outside but from the inside. The choice is ours. To impiously paraphrase Benjamin Franklin: History has given you an empire, if you will keep it.” – Charles Krauthammer – „The Unipolar Moment Revisited” (Winter 2002-2003)
